This is a throw-style cover: it drapes over the seat and back and tucks into the gaps.

Measure your sofa from arm to arm, then pick a length that's roughly 20″ longer so there's enough to tuck in and drape over the arms. The 71″ side runs from the floor at the front, over the seat and up the back; choose 90″ for deep or tall sofas.
